How to Request SuperUser account

Faculty and Staff can request SU accounts for themselves and other people. Student employees and Guest cannot request one and will need to have a faculty/staff member submit the request.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Login to Online Toolkit, go to Request Hub > External Identity and click SU account.

An External Identity Selection page displays available identity request types, including Distribution List, Conference Room, and SU Account. The SU Account tile is shown as the option for creating or managing a Super User account.

  1. Enter in the NetID that you are requesting the SU account for and click Next.

An SU Account request form displays user and sponsor information, including the NetID, first name, last name, and sponsor details. The NetID field and Next button are highlighted to indicate the information required before proceeding.

  1. Click Next

A Set Additional Details page for an SU Account request allows users to specify a start date and configure the account as permanent. The Next button advances the request to the summary and review stage.

  1. Click Submit

A Summary page displays the details of an SU Account (Super User Account) request, including the NetID, user information, sponsor information, and access period. The Submit button is highlighted to indicate the final step for submitting the account request.

  1. Enter business justification for why the request is needed.

A business justification dialog prompts the user to enter a required reason for creating the SU Account. The form includes a Reason text box along with Close and Submit buttons for completing the request.

  1. The person will receive an email to their personal email address on file that their SU account has been setup.

An email from the IT Assistance Center (ITAC) welcomes the recipient to Texas State University and provides instructions for claiming a new account. The message includes a link to the identity claim portal and lists the assigned NetID needed to complete the account setup process.
