How to reset your NetID or SuperUser password

Step-by-step guide

 

  1. In Online Toolkit click forgot password.

A Secure Sign-On page displays username and password fields with a highlighted Forgot Password link. The link provides users with a way to begin the password recovery process when they cannot sign in.

  1. Fill in all the required fields, optional fields are not required. It is not case sensitive.
    • If resetting SU, enter in SU-NetID instead of NetID. 

A Locate Your Identity form prompts users to enter identifying information, including their legal first name, legal last name, date of birth, and NetID. The highlighted fields indicate the required information needed to locate an identity record and continue the recovery process.

  1. Select the email address.

A Verify Your Identity page displays available email verification options with partially masked email addresses. Users can select an email address to receive a verification message and confirm their identity before proceeding.

  1. Confirmation link was sent.

A We Have Received Your Request confirmation page indicates that a password reset email has been sent to the user's registered email address. The page provides instructions for checking the email and includes a Start Over button for restarting the process if needed.

  1. Click on the link in the email. It is a one-time link and cannot be reused.

An email from the IT Assistance Center contains a link to continue the forgot password process. The message instructs the recipient to click the provided URL to proceed with password recovery.​​​​​​​

  1. Select Active Directory and then Reset.

​​​​​​​A password reset account selection page displays available accounts, including Active Directory and Active Directory - Qual (Test environment). The Active Directory account is highlighted to indicate the account selected for password reset.​​​​​​​

  • Note: QUAL is our test system which is primarily used by Faculty and Staff and NOT students. You should typically know if you are resetting a QUAL password. If not, you can ignore this section. If you are unsure, please contact ITAC.

 

  1. Enter the desired password. The requirements will be listed below and will guide in real time. Click Reset.

​​​​​​​A Let’s secure your account with a password page prompts the user to create a new password for an Active Directory account. The screen displays password requirements, validation indicators, and password visibility controls to help ensure the new password meets security standards.​​​​​​​
