How to Set Up F5 Remote Access VPN on an Android Device

There are two steps needed to use the VPN:

After completing these two steps, you can use the VPN to connect to different resources on campus.

 

Step 1: Install and Setup the Mobile App

  1. In the App Store, install the F5 Access mobile app.
  2. Once installed, open the app.
    You will need to setup the server to connect to the TXST VPN.

     
  3. Open the configuration settings.
  4. Next to Description, enter TXST
  5. Next to Server, enter this URL: https://remoteaccess.txstate.edu

 

​​​Step 2: Connect to the VPN

  1. On the F5 Access home screen, tap Connect.

    NOTE: On an Android phone, you may be prompted to allow F5 Access to make and manage phone calls. Tap Allow.

  2. Tap Activate this device admin app.

  3. Enter your NetID and password, and click Login.


     
  4. Complete Duo.

  5. If prompted with a Connection request, click OK.

    Congratulations! You are now connected to the VPN.

    Now that your device is connected, you can access several apps such as these:
  • Class Database - your class may use VPN to connect to a database on campus
  • Remote Desktop Connection - allows you to remote to your work computer
  • SAP Business Client - allows you to access this software from off-campus
  • Department Share Drive or UDrive - allows you to access your files from off-campus
