Texas State Domain Name and URL Policy
Domain names (URL's) within the TXST.EDU domain are governed by UPPS.04.01.08.
The university’s URL naming convention is designed to align with its organizational structure to eliminate duplicates, avoid conflicts, and minimize ambiguity. URL's should reflect the name of the responsible university organizational unit (e.g., division, college, or department).
Once a URL request has been processed, the old URL will still remain active for 6 months (unless requested to be set inactive sooner). This buffer period allows site visitors to ease into the new URL, while also providing time for departments to make any required adjustments.
