DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS:
Faculty Travel Allowance - $2,000
- Due to budget constraints, only faculty members in the promotion-eligible tracks (i.e., tenure-track or instructional-track faculty at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor) will be eligible for travel funding in 2026-2027.
- NEW PROCEDURE: As soon as a faculty member submits an abstract/conference proposal (or as soon as a faculty member receives a direct invitation to present at a conference without having to submit an abstract/proposal), they must immediately complete the new E.A.S.Y. form; this stands for “Encumber at Submission, Yes!”. This new form is a critical early-alert step in our updated/improved accounting processes. Failure to complete the E.A.S.Y. form within 1 week of conference submission (or direct invitation) may result in a loss of travel funding.
- To be eligible for travel funding, faculty must…
- have empirical papers or posters accepted for presentation at a scientific conference.
-
- be conference program chairs or professional organization officers whose attendance is essential for the successful operation of the conference,
-
- perform professional service as discussants in academic paper presentations or as invited presenters for panel sessions.
- In addition, the faculty member’s name must be listed in the conference event program with Texas State University listed as the affiliated institution and the faculty member must have published at least one peer-reviewed journal article, book chapter, or book within the preceding 3 years.
- Poster printing costs will be covered only if the request is made at least 1 week prior to the conference and the poster must be printed at TXST. Poster printing fees will be charged against the respective faculty member’s travel allowance.
- In addition to the E.A.S.Y. form, the traditional Travel Request Form is still required (it serves a different purpose than the E.A.S.Y. form). These should be initiated using the web-based departmental form at: https://services.txst.edu/TDClient/65/PSY/Requests/ServiceOffering/891/Psychology-Faculty-Travel-Request/Request.
