Email Alias

Email Alias allows you to customize your Texas State email address to make it more personal or professional. For example, instead of zzz99@txstate.edu you can change it to bokobobcat@txstate.edu. Locate the Email Alias option in the Online Toolkit.

Get Started

  1. Go to Online Toolkit and select My Aliases, enter in the desired email address, and click + on the left.

The My Aliases page displays no active aliases and shows an available alias entry field. The email input field and plus (+) button are highlighted to indicate where users can add a new email alias.
 

  1. If the alias is available it will go to active aliases.

The My Aliases page shows an active email alias listed under Active Aliases, with an edit icon available to manage the alias. The Available Aliases section indicates that no additional aliases are available for selection.

  1. You ALSO need to change it to primary alias. It does NOT do it automatically.
    1. Click Pencil
      1.  An Active Aliases section displays an email alias associated with the account, with the edit (pencil) icon highlighted to indicate where users can modify alias settings.
    2. Select Primary and click save.
      1. The alias management screen shows editing options for an active alias, including a Primary toggle and save controls. The highlighted elements indicate how to designate an alias as the primary email address and save the change.
         
  2. If the alias is not available it will display at the top right. 
    1. An error notification states that the email alias “kokobobcat@txstate.edu” is not available, indicating that the requested alias cannot be assigned to the account.
