Information Security Research Governance and Security Referral

This service is primarily intended for use by personnel in the Division of Research. If you are a researcher or another member of Texas State's research communities seeking to work with the Information Security Office (ISO) on a project with which you are directly involved or on other research security matters, please use the Research Security Support form.

Security assessments related to the acquisition or renewal of IT products and services, including cloud-hosted items and workstation software, should be requested using the Security and Accessibility Assessment Request form.

Division of Research personnel are encouraged to use this form to alert the ISO to new or existing projects, agreements, and other research matters that may require the creation of a data security plan, authorization from the ISO, and/or advisement from the ISO on matters of technical capabilities, compliance, and general research security topics.

Depending on volume, an ISO representative should be in contact with you (and/or the personnel involved with the project) within 10 business days. Timelines for completion of the ISO's engagement for these referral requests may vary significantly depending on the nature of the referral, complexity of the technical and administrative compliance requirements, and availability of the PI and/or other stakeholders involved in the project.
