A Teams Live event is a webinar-style meeting intended to be used for large-scale information dissemination such as company announcements, town halls, and training. The advantage of using Teams is that the integration of Live events into Teams makes setup and production of events very easy.

  • 10,000 people can attend a Teams Live event.

  • Live events can run a maximum of four hours.

  • An event that has gone live will have Live in the top banner. Additionally, presenters will see a red border surrounding the active presenter and content, and producers will see the active presenter and content on the right side in the Live event box.

  • No. The chat is intended for producers and presenters to communicate and coordinate the Live event and is not visible to attendees.

  • Attendees watch Live events with around 20-30 seconds of a delay.

  • Presenters and producers will see an indicator over the Meeting Chat or Q&A icons.

  • Yes, Live event producers can enable Live Captions by viewing Device Settings and turning Attendee live captions on.

  • Yes, Q&A moderators may opt to reply to the question using a Private reply. Questions that have been answered or that are otherwise unlikely to be useful to other attendees of the event may be Dismissed.

    If a question is asked by many people or may be relevant to other attendees, a Q&A moderator may choose to publish the question. When a question is published, the question is moved to the Published section.

    PRO TIP: Attendees can see when their question is Dismissed. Consider trashing the question by clicking the trashcan icon on the question. These questions no longer appear in the Dismissed or New sections, but attendees will see them in their questions section.

  • It is not recommended to use the Teams web version to present or produce a Teams Live event.
