Third-party individuals or organizations not affiliated with Texas State University must submit student data requests through the TSUS Office of General Counsel in accordance with the Texas Public Information Act (TPIA).
The University complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which limits disclosure of student education records.
Only public directory information may be released—and only after the 12th class day of long semesters or 4th class day of summer terms. Examples include: student name, major, classification, enrollment status, and degrees awarded.
Sensitive data such as GPA, grades, student ID numbers, email addresses, or course schedules will not be released.
